PagerDuty brand assistant

Brand systems / AI enablement
Brand guidance, put to work.

An AI skill that connects PagerDuty’s writing style guide and brand guidelines to everyday content creation and review.

The opportunity

From reading the guidelines
to applying them.

Brand guidelines establish a shared direction. Applying them to a specific piece of work takes interpretation: how should this sound, which guidance matters here, and what needs to change?

I built a PagerDuty brand skill to bring that guidance into the working process, giving teams a way to reference our writing standards and brand principles while creating content or reviewing something they’ve already made.

The tool

Two ways in.
One shared reference.

Create with guidance.
Use the skill to help generate content with PagerDuty’s writing style guide and brand guidelines as references. Brand considerations become part of the starting point, ready for further editing and refinement.

Review existing work.
Bring something already created to the skill and ask it to check alignment with the guidelines. The review provides another opportunity to consider the work against the brand before moving it forward.

Both uses connect the task at hand to the same source guidance, bringing creation and review into a shared workflow.

My contribution

Extending brand expertise
into a practical tool.

This project extends my work in brand systems and design enablement into AI-assisted workflows. I built the skill around PagerDuty’s existing guidance, connecting written voice and visual identity within a tool that supports both making and checking work.

The intent is to make brand guidance easier to use in context, while keeping creative judgment and final review with the people responsible for the work.

My role
Brand skill development and translation of brand guidance into AI-assisted creation and review.

In development

Helping teams scope
the right design effort.

I’m also developing a complementary skill to help determine when a project needs a distinct identity and what level of design support is appropriate.

The focus is on bringing brand and design judgment earlier into the conversation—helping teams clarify the need before deciding what to create.
